She also talks about themes related to caregiving and hospice care, which figure prominently in her novel, Row Away From the Rocks. She is currently working on her second novel, Tessa and Claudine: A Story of Two Sisters.
Caregiving Organizations
Lisbeth Thom loves to present to caregiving and hospice organizations. Her presentations include discussion of the caregiving theme in her book, Row Away from the Rocks, anecdotes from her personal experience, and also topical debate about the perception of the issues facing those in caregiving situations, both in the media and nationwide.
Writing Workshops
In her workshops, Lisbeth gives tips on writing basics: characterization, dialog, setting, structure, tone, voice, concrete images, point of view, use of similes and metaphors, and other facets of writing.
Book Clubs
Lisbeth has been a guest author/speaker at numerous book clubs. She loves to visit groups who want to know about the writing process and want to discuss specifics about her book. She enjoys interaction with her readers.
The Medical Community
Lisbeth speaks to medical groups. She has a good, intuitive understanding of the situations and issues faced by medical professionals (doctors, nurses, aides, and medical students), which combined with her own caregiving experience and hospice volunteer work, makes her a welcome speaker. Many medical professionals have recommended Row Away From the Rocks as required reading for medical and nursing students.
